I believe that my twenty-two years of investing in many amazing and exciting markets have given me a level of practical knowledge that few have. I have traded stocks, bonds, mutual funds, options, options on commodities, GIC's, insurance products and more. The most rewarding experience has been in helping people understand financial markets and making investments work for them. Investing is much more rewarding after a plan has been mapped out. I'm sure I have created hundreds of financial strategies with clients over the years.

My clients are everyday people. They are people who have built their own businesses or become professionals, they are people saving for their retirement and building wealth for future generations. My clients have two things in common, they make investment plans and they seek out knowledgeable advice from competent people. Many of my clients are the sons and daughters, family and friends of clients. People like to deal with people they can trust.

My clients like to own things, things of value. I help them find that value in companies and investments, often buying when others wouldn't. I bring discipline to the investment process, building portfolios that we can track and manage.

I grew up on a dairy farm in Alberta, where I learned to work everyday, less on Sunday. That was my door to "free enterprise" and the beginning of my education in economics and business. Farms are capital intensive, low margin and often debt laden. Profit margins are very sensitive to any fluctuations and you quickly learn to monitor and track variables. Waste is avoided and there is often a lot of creative thinking.

Farms are also about family and neighbors and I have an appreciation for both. I like to know people.

There's good weather and bad, things you can change and things you can't. You seed in the spring, maintain in the summer, harvest in the fall and go away for the winter. It's a good plan really!

I find it very satisfying to help people understand investments and plan for their future. I help people to manage their fears and expectations. I help people to find investments they are looking for. I help people to track their progress. I help people to meet their goals.
