Investment Advisor
My Business and Services
I offer a full range of integrated wealth management services and strategies to help my clients achieve their financial goals and dreams.
Today's investment environment is more complicated and dynamic than ever before. Add to that the ever changing tax laws from Ottawa and the provincial governments and it is very clear that the need for professional advice is paramount in achieving your financial objectives.
I work very closely with the other members of your financial team (accountants, lawyers, tax specialists) to ensure that all aspects of your financial plan are covered. Having a written financial plan is just as important as the need for professional advice.
My Investment Philosophy
My investment philosophy is quite simple and conservative. I believe that it is critical that an investor not take any more risk than is absolutely necessary to achieve their goals. Investing is not about "beating the market" or making as much as you can as quick as you can. Investing is about allocating the resources you have available in the most efficient manner possible. It's about earning absolute returns and meeting your objectives regardless of market performance.
My initial meeting(s) with prospective clients can take one to two hours over one or more meetings. During this time I aim to gather complete and accurate information about your financial goals and objectives and the resources you have available to implement your financial plan. The financial plan can only be as good and accurate as the information gathered in its preparation.
My Clients
I work with a wide range of clients that understand and appreciate the need for professional help. Retirees that may need capital preservation, they may need to generate tax efficient income, they may have resources they would like to set aside to help with their grandchildren's education, or they may have a desire to set up their estate for a tax efficient transfer to future generations and/or charities. Pre-retirees that are seeking capital growth towards retirement or other goals such as their children's education. Business owners may have needs similar to retirees or pre-retirees but there is also the business itself to consider. Business succession planning is very important and should ideally be started up to two years before the expected sale of the business or transition to a family member or other purchaser. For those business owners that are not looking for an exit strategy there is still the need to invest the company's liquid assets according to the needs and goals of the owner.
